Electronic device with semiliquid material molecules between transparent material sheets. An electric current applied to the molecules aligns them to reflect light of different colors as wavelengths. LCDs use very little current, having long service life. Mainly found in newer computer monitors and handheld devices like cell phones and digital cameras.
