An act is said to be intra vires (“within the power”) of a person or corporation when it is within the scope of his or its powers or authority. It is the opposite of ultra vires , (q. v.) Pittsburgh, etc., R. Co. v. Dodd, 115 Ky. 170, 72 S. W. 827.
