Legal principle. An entity is not liable for harm or injury caused by the employing the services of an independent contractor if (1). improper execution by the independent contractor performing specified duty is the cause, (2). the actions of the contractor is inconsistent with expected work from the contractor was employed to perform, and (3). reasonable anticipation of the event by the entity is impossible.
