A code found on products consisting of commonly-used horizontal bars. It has 43 characters, consisting of alphanumeric and special characters in groups each consisting of five bars and four spaces. Code 39 barcodes are a standard and readable by any barcode scanner. It has a lower data density than high density Code 128 barcodes, which are used in a specialized GS1128 variant for worldwide shipping and packaging.
