What is PUBLIC COMPANY ACCOUNTING OVERSIGHT BOARD (PCAOB)

This is a not for profit organisation that oversees all auditors providing services to publicly traded companies. It is the result of accounting scandals by securities company Enron and Worldcom. The act was established in 2002 and is known as the SarbanesOxley Act.
